Currently serving as Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Ontario Tech University Dr.
Rodgers brings significant administrative and research experience to the steering committee
and the activities of the IDRR. A fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine her research
expertise extends across a variety of domains particularly focusing on the interplay between
metabolism, exercise and sex steroid hormones in active females. More recent work has
included the impact of youth mentorship programs on health and physical activity in indigenous
youth.
Prior to coming to Ontario Tech University, Dr. Rodgers held faculty appointments at Michigan
State University [Physical Education] and the University of Toronto [Faculty of Kinesiology and
Physical Education] where she also served as Associate Dean Graduate Education and Research.
Most recently, she served for 10 years as Dean of the College of Kinesiology at the University of
Saskatchewan. She has served as a Board Member of the Saskatchewan Sport Medicine
Council, Vice President Research – Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology as well as an
Executive Board Member of WomenSport International, highlighting only a few of her
leadership experiences.
Dr. Rodgers received her PhD [Exercise Biochemistry/Endocrinology], from Western University
(London, Ontario) a Masters of Human Kinetics [Exercise Physiology] from the University of
Windsor and a Bachelors of Physical Education [Bioscience] from the University of New
Brunswick.
